Arbor Day Tradition

For over four decades, the Rotary Club of Newport Balboa has given every third grade student in the Newport-Mesa Unified School District a small tree to help introduce the kids to the importance of respecting our environment. That’s over 2400 trees every year, and more than 80,000 trees so far.

This year we also presented a large tree to Eastbluff Elementary School. NMUSD Board Member Karen Yelsey joined President Bill Hossfeld and Rotarians to give the tree to Principal Cheryl Beck and the school’s Student Council. The tree was generously donated by West Coast Arborists.
